November, 2017 - Presented by the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown Hotel - early in the morning (from 6:00 to 10:00 am) on Friday, December 1st - the Burnaby Firefighters will be collecting toys & cash donations for their 6th Annual Christmas Angel Breakfast & Toy Drive supporting the Burnaby Christmas Bureau and the CKNW Orphans' Fund.
Update May, 2017 - Province to add cancer to coverage for Firefighters March 10, 2014 - With over 100 BC firefighters attending the Robert E. Hall Legislative Conference in Victoria, the BC government has announced it will introduce legislation today that allows firefighters to claim heart disease, including heart attacks, as job-related stress.
March, 2017 - The Burnaby Firefighters Charitable Society is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of their Annual Gala Ball that raises funds to directly support numerous charitable organizations including the Society’s well-known Nutritional Snack Program that helps feed hungry kids in Burnaby schools.

March 14, 2016, Burnaby, BC – Less than 24 hours after Burnaby Now broke the news that Mayor Derek Corrigan’s office cancelled this year’s City contribution of $3,000.00 towards the Burnaby Firefighters Annual Charitable Ball, some local residents stepped up to donate the $3,000.00 necessary to purchase flowers and other provisions in the City’s stead.

February, 2015 - The Executive of Local 323 recently attended the Vincent J. Bollon Affiliate Leadership Training Summit (ALTS), the IAFF’s premier education conference that provides an unmatched opportunity to learn new skills and become more effective union leaders.
November, 2014 - As a tribute to BC Firefighters and to raise both awareness & funds, local craft brewery Steamworks Brewing Company brewed a robust and flavourful Heroica Red Ale for its 2014 fall release and in keeping with Steamworks' whimsical brand designs, this particular label featured Burnaby Heights Landmark Helen Arnold the swinging girl as a damsel in distress being rescued by a Steampunked firefighter.
November, 2014 - Join the Burnaby Firefighters at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown Hotel on Tuesday morning, November 25th, to help support the Burnaby Christmas Bureau. Bring a toy or cash for a pancake breakfast in the ballroom or get a continental breakfast-to-go.
November, 2014 - The BC Professional Firefighters has endorsed Sister Amber Hockin and Brother Aaron Ekman to lead the BC Federation of Labour. The biannual convention takes place in Vancouver November 24th through to the 28th.

May 30, 2014 - Firefighters from Burnaby BC were acclaimed to three top level positions at the BC Professional Fire Fighters Association (BCPFFA) Convention that took place in Surrey this week.
May 26, 2014 - Senator Yonah Martin (British Columbia) met with Burnaby Firefighters in May, 2014, to discuss the need to recognize Firefighter Safety in the National Building Code of Canada. While there, Burnaby Firefighters took the opportunity to tour Senator Martin around Fire Hall #1.

On November 14th, the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown Hotel was the venue for the 14th Annual Burnaby Business Excellence Awards, hosted by the Burnaby Board of Trade and the City of Burnaby. The event recognizes organizations that have demonstrated outstanding business success and have had a positive and significant impact on the community.

October, 2013 - The Burnaby Firefighters Charitable Society have been announced as finalists in two categories for the Burnaby Business Excellence Awards, sponsored by the Burnaby Board of Trade. The awards will be presented at the 14th BBEA Gala taking place on November 14, 2013 at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown Hotel.

August, 2013 - Burnaby’s Firefighters, members of the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 323, would like you to join them in supporting the fight against Breast Cancer by purchasing a “Burnaby Firefighters For A Cure” t-shirt, with all proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society.
July 16, 2013 - Seven Burnaby firefighters recently volunteered to lend a hand, then drove 11 hours to do so, helping flooded-out homeowners muck out basements in High River, Alberta.
May, 2013 - The 2013 Esso Cup, Canada’s National Female Midget Championship Hockey Tournament, came to Burnaby the last week of April and the Burnaby Firefighters Charitable Society showed their support for the 6,000 kids from Burnaby's schools who attended the games at the week long event at the Bill Copeland Centre.
Representatives from Burnaby Firefighters Local 323 proudly present a $100,000 cheque to the BCPFF Burn Fund on behalf of the Burnaby Firefighters Charitable Society to fund an accommodation unit, named in their honour, at the new Burn Fund Centre in Vancouver.
On Wednesday, the Day of Mourning, the city honoured workers who have been killed, injured or suffered illness due to workplace related hazards and occupational exposures. Mayor Hurley, joined by Provincial MLAs, Federal MPs and City Leaders, publicly expressed the need to vaccinate all of Burnaby's frontline workers immediately.
